Great cities have great destinations. The Greenville Zoo is one of the top rated attractions in the Upstate of South Carolina, welcoming over 300,000 guests each year. Over 40,000 children from South Carolina public schools alone are a served by the Zoo’s award-winning education department during the school year.
Each donation helps to enhance the Zoo’s programs, build new exhibits, and contributes to the Zoo’s conservation efforts. Please consider making a tax-deductible donation to the Greenville Zoo.

The Zoo is proud to be one of a select group of zoos accredited by the Association of Zoos & Aquariums (AZA). AZA accreditation recognizes institutions that meet the highest professional standards for animal welfare, scientific education and staff training. Only about 10% of zoos and aquariums in the US meet these rigorous standards. In 2015, the Greenville Zoo was recognized by the AZA for 25-years of continuous accreditation—evidence of the zoo’s commitment to excellence.
My Greenville Zoo Day was the idea of James (Jimmy) Riley, a zoo staff member from 2010 to 2017, when he passed away. My Greenville Zoo Day is meant to promote a sense of pride and ownership of the Zoo within the community while also raising support. Follow along today on Facebook to help us honor Jimmy’s legacy by raising support for your zoo.
