The Greenville Zoo depends on zoo visitors, events and programs to help fund animal care, educational experiences and conservation work. The Greenville Zoo closed its gates on March 14 and cancelled all events through May - a time when 40% of its revenue is usually generated. With our gates closed and events cancelled or postponed, critical earned revenue that helps fund our people and mission is lost.
We are now facing a $1M shortfall to complete the new lions’ den and exhibit. If the Zoo cannot proceed with updating the lion enclosure, we may need to send the Lions to another zoo to avoid losing accreditation with the Association of Zoos and Aquariums. Lions have lived at the zoo for 48 years and are a favorite of visitors. We are asking our friends and supporters to help us keep our lions.
Your gift today will enable us to continue operating at the highest level of standards and to provide the critical funding needed for the new lions den. Our goal is to provide the best possible care for our animals, each and every day, and to connect with our community.
Gifts of any size make a difference, and no gift is too small. All donations are tax-deductible.
